Founder's Membership FAQHow does a membership actually work?
Like any subscription, our membership is month to month that you can cancel at any time. We envision this membership to as a place that you can learn new cooking skills, connect with other home cooks passionate about creating delicious food in their own kitchens and a place, like our virtual clubhouse of like-minds. If I join as a Founding Member, how lone am I considered a founder? As long as you stay a member in good standing, you will forever be considered a founding member. You can leave your membership at any time but will not be considered a founding member when you rejoin. Also, we will not be taking on any new members until October 1st or after so we can work out the kinks of your membership and build an experience that meets your high standards. When we to open up for new members, it will be only a few times per year and each opening we may be raising the membership monthly dues unless you are a founding member. Founding members will pay the same forever, as long as they stay as a founding member. How will I learn new cooking skills? Your main skill building and knowledge will come from our uploaded cooking videos and "Ask Chef Anything" online get-togethers. What will the cooking video's consist of? The cooking videos will consist of basic cooking skills like sauteing, roasting, grilling, steaming, chopping, skill seasoning, etc.. Eventually, all of the cooking skills you'll need to find success and master in your own home kitchen. Also, we'll feature a different cooking skill monthly as used in a recipe from one of our own meals. So you get to see what the chef's like to eat! Also, as founding members, we'll add more specific cooking videos of skills that you want to learn in an area we call, "Special Orders". What is "Ask Chef Anything" get-togethers? Your monthly held "Ask Chef Anything" live get togethers are presented via Zoom live! You'll get to submit your questions both in advance and live during this get-together. If you can't make it during any month, we'll upload the "Ask Chef Anything" recorded class to your membership site hosted by the Searchie membership hosted platform. And as the name imply's, you can easily "search" your own submitted question via the easy searching capability of our hosting platform. So your submitted questions will be answered whether you are present at our scheduled Zoom get-together or not. Will there be easy to follow recipes? Yes and no. Most baked items will include "recipes" or what we like to refer to them as "formulas". But for your savory cooked dishes, we will begin to "wean" you off of recipes and encourage you to apply your new cooking skill knowledge to making food in your own kitchen. Your cooking skill will develop as you apply the skills that you'll learn and repeat them regularly when making your meals. How many founder members will their be in our group? We are topping out at 50 members and are offering them first to people who we've shared this membership already though our personal connection or from attending our live cooking classes. This is why once we open the doors on July 1st for you, we will close membership once we hit 50 members or when we stop taking in founder members July 22nd. Will I learn more cooking skills like I do while in person at one of our live cooking classes? Yes! Because you'll be watching a video of each cooking skill, the view is unobstructed, you can repeat and watch as often as you'd prefer and come back to it later, as often as you'd like. You typically will forget this new cooking skill when you watch it at a live event. For really embedding these new skills, you must practice immediately and frequently as you learn. Your skill is now developed by you practicing these new cooking skills in your own kitchen. By repeating these properly taught and applied cooking methods and techniques, all you need to do is apply them over and over to sharpen your own skills. What happens if I travel or vacation and miss a monthly live class or posting? Good news, everything will be recorded, so if you are traveling and not anywhere near a computer or WiFi, you can rest assured that when you return from your travels, new cooking knowledge will be waiting for you when you return. You can even post your question in advance of leaving for your vacation and we'll still answer it at our monthly, "Ask Chef Anything" event and you'll be able access the answers upon returning. |
How will be build our cooking community?
Attached to your membership site at Searchie host platform, we will have a private Facebook page that we'll open up for you once we begin. You'll have not just our knowledge and insights on food available to you, but the collective knowledge including your own food experiences to share with online. Are there added costs or up-charges to these added services or event? No! As we develop your membership site, we will add more services, ideas, events and more, but will not add charges! People who want to join our local Chattanooga live cooking classes will be welcome as our guest at no charge. We want to build a communitee of like minded home cooks that love food, dining and everything related. We believe that our culture will grow and be enriched by this membership. Do you offer a discounted yearly membership so I don't have to bother with a monthly dues to join? We haven't put that much thought into this yet. Our focus is getting your membership off the ground first. But if you would like to consider this for yourself, please contact us directly at jconnolly@ceochef.com and we'll consider it. Will you be offering any live events in addition to our membership? Yes, but right now, our focus is on getting this program off the ground wit you help. We have had offers for hosting local Chattanooga wine tastings and cheese tastings. But it's too soon to discuss them at the juncture. Stay tuned, Dr. Renee has some exciting ideas for the holidays! Will you be offering your continued series of live cooking classes at your community center in Chattanooga? Yes, and if you're in the neighborhood, please join us as our guest. We are soon to grow out of our current facility and are planning on some more hands-on classes in the future. But for now, our periodic live demonstration classes will be announced. Do we have to complete these cooking skill at a certain time or speed to keep up? No, our goal is to attract members, no matter what your current skill level to our community. You learn as you go. No pressure. We will be posting new cooking skill videos regularly to stay ahead of the group. But our actions are not intended on pacing you stay on pace but for you to be ready as you go along. It's more important to absorb one skill at a time and master that then watch hours of information. Applied cooking knowledge will develop skills. Having more skills makes creating more FUN! What is I have a special diet, like eating vegan, will this help me? Yes! Cooking and food preparation cater to many types of eating. So if you are plant based, omnivore, carnivore, Keto, you need cooking skills for all of these ways to eat and prepare your meals. Will you focus mainly on everyday cooking and eating or fancy, elaborate entertaining? Both! Cooking skills translate over to both everyday cooking and eating as well as when you want to splurge and celebrate a special occasion. Dr. Renee is partial to the later part of entertaining and she will feature segment on how to enjoy the best food for holidays as the present themselves. Plenty of room for slipping in some great hints and tips for your next celebration. |
