LEADERSHIP RETREATS
Leadership is a part of team as much as teamwork is a part of leadership. Leadership is not defined by the position that you hold, it’s about taking the right action to drive your team to success and achievement.
Skill Development is essential to the growth and effectiveness of your project teams, store locations and organization managers. This is where you actually learn the many skills that are used in both managing and coaching your team to positive achievement. We suggest experiencing and learning these skills within an offsite retreat environment that is an immersion type experience. The remoteness of the venue is invaluable to your group’s transformation, learning and application to the leadership content presented to you. We can help suggest the right venue to fit your group’s personality and geographical needs.
We place our program into six modules, based on our newest leadership book, “i Lead: The New Fundamentals of Leader”. This set-up below is shown as a 1-day workshop but can easily be presented as a 2-day program as well with the addition of more interactive exercises to anchor in the critical points. Discuss this option with your CEO Chef representative at 423-250-5020 or email us at [email protected]

MODULE 1 - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
You learn how to discover the message beneath the message and how to minimize the confusion and is understanding that comes from ineffective communication. What results is reduce mistakes and decreased time and effort to get the result you desire. We demonstrate this by teaching the skills of active listening and spontaneous storytelling.
MODULE 2 - COLLABORATION
Everyone knows the importance of collaboration. The issue is they don’t always have the ‘right’ skills to pull it off. We use active exercises in the workshop to teach high impact collaboration. For example, we strive for your team members to think outside the box by having them go through our ‘Accelerated Product Creation Process’.
MODULE 3 - GOALS & VISION
Coaching legend and leader Jimmy Valvano had his team at NC State practicing the vision of winning the NCAA tournament by cutting down the net in practice. Everything in his practice, coaching, and leadership drew from setting that vision for team success. We use that as a metaphor to achieve world-class accountability and linkage between each individual’s goals toward the benefit and delivery of your division’s goals. Our workshop exercise is designed to help each individual understand what good performance looks like for their role in the organization and more importantly how that links to Division and Corporate goals. The result is your employees know on a weekly basis, the positive impact they’re having on achieving Division results.
MODULE 4 - COMMITMENT & TRUST
To have trust, you need to be relatable. To get commitment, you need trust while getting results. Stephen Covey talked about this in his book, The 8th Habit – The Speed of Trust. He says, “Credibility breeds commitment and that credibility comes from a blend of integrity, intent, capabilities, and results. We teach people how to rapidly get credibility through accountability. At the end of this module, each person in the workshop has developed a 30-day accountability statement towards improvement of their team or division.
MODULE 5 - COACHING IN LEADERSHIP
There is confusion about the role of Manager and Leader in an organization. We fix that. A world class Leader is a Coach that teaches and supports the development of skills and abilities. A world class Manager orchestrates the use of skills, abilities, and talents. We help people get crystal clarity on when to be a Coach and when to be a Manager and why.
MODULE 6 - COACHING IN ACTION
In the final module, we share our top 10 coaching best practices, Letterman-style. This gives the workshop attendees a glimpse in what they can do to become a world-class team of coaches in your organization. We demonstrate great coaching and credibility by having teams develop a customized plan to resolve one of the top issues in the organization that was identified at the beginning of the day. The session is lively and interactive with organization leadership sharing involvement towards a solution. Teams present their 30-day plan for results to the group. This creates public accountability for everyone involved.
