How CEO Chef Uses the Three Methods of Learning in Their Team Building Programs

The objective behind the team building programs offered here at CEO Chef is to ensure each member of your team is not only presented with valuable training, but is also able to retain what they learned, and use new skills in everyday operations. To ensure your team can truly learn these skills, we use the three most popular methods for learning within our cooking programs.

The Three Methods of Learning

Our team building programs use a combination of methods that have been proven to help people learn and retain new information. Each method uses strategies that aid in deeper understanding. These methods include:
  • Impact Training - teaching through sensory experience
  • Discovery - coaching to find the A-ha! moment
  • Spaced Repetition - reinforces information though practice and exposure
Impact Training in Team Building Programs
The nature of our team building and leadership programs automatically create impact training environments. The sounds, smells, textures, and novelty of cooking team building exercises, combined with expert instruction, create the ideal atmosphere for lesson retention and recall. Results are often noticed long after the group meal has finished.

Discovering the A-ha! Moment
The A-ha! moment is classified as that moment when the lessons presented are finally understood on a deeper, long term level. Reaching this level of understanding is difficult to plan as each individual perceives information differently. However, we have learned that the discovery aspect often comes during the debriefing session after the team building program has been completed. When the presenter questions the group, the brain is able to forge stronger connections, often leading to that A-ha! moment. Our coaching sessions also often prompt the discovery.

Spaced Repetition Repeats and Reinforces Learned Information
Repetition has long been held as one of the best ways to learn new information. It's how we learned our ABC's in Kindergarten, and it is how leadership and team building programs enforce necessary skills to improve productivity, problem solving, and leadership.

Here at CEO Chef, we recommend reading the same chapter in your iLead book, every night for six days for the greatest retention. We have also added Skill Snack videos that offer a short, but detailed information related to a single skill. As with the iLead book, we also recommend watching one video every day for six days.
